Dec 03

Earlier on this year, I asked Mauro Berchi from Eibon Records to send me an original, different from the rest album to listen to, something like I’ve never heard before.  To be honest, at this stage in life I thought it was impossible for me to be surprised by something in music. He suggested an album called “In Our Mad Bliss”, from Ignis Fatuus. Ignis Fatuus in Latin means fire foolish, or in better English, Foolish Fire.  Ask Mr Google and you’ll get to know that it is usually a term associated with a mysterious light associated with spirits, found in various folklore tales, or a more realistic explanation; “the ghostly lights sometimes seen at night or twilight over bogs, swamps, or marshes. It looks like a flickering lamp, and is sometimes said to recede if approached”.

Well, as soon as I received the CD and started listening to it, I immediately understood why this band carried such a name.  In Our Mad Bliss, Ignis Fatuus’s second album is mind blowing, magical, timeless, and suites every mood you might be in, and every season.  Irrelevant what genre of music you prefer, sit down sipping some fine Italian wine, and let this music play in the background.  Thanks to its wonderful melodies, you’re transported to a magical universe, where the fairies fly.  Their music is dark and gloomy, while at the same time it also gives you a warm and rich feeling thanks to the enchanting female vocals of Melysa Baucom and the large variety of instruments used.

No wonder Eibon Records are proud of being Ignis Fatuus’s record label.  This album meets everyone’s musical tastes!  I’m honestly looking forward to purchase Ignis Fatuus impressive debut album (as described from many) The Futility Goddess.

Well, after reading the above, you want to have a taste of Ignis Fatuus?  It’s just below, enjoy :)
