LA based blues rock band Darin Bennet and the Requiem have announced their debut EP ‘Midnight Storybook‘ being available for download on iTunes. The band’s sound is mostly characterized by Darin’s expressive vocals spreading from mysterious whispers to a loud growl, his original slide guitar and banjo playing style. It’s very promising that Darin Benett finally formed his own band which started to perform very powerful and well-arranged blues rock.

You may watch this cool video made for the first single Holdin’ Me off the EP:

Darin Bennet says the following about his style: “My sound has been compared to a wide variety of artists including Tom Waits, Nick Cave, and Bruce Springsteen, as well pioneers such as Son House, Robert Johnson, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke.”

And the following regarding the new video: “I’m a singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles who usually plays guitar. However, this video features, slide banjo, guns and a high speed car chase through a mile of the Mojave Desert.”
