Pink Floyd, the band that never grew old!

I never loved Pink Floyd. I always thought they’re a commercial band.  Who doesn’t listen to Pink Floyd? Ever seen a Juke box which does not have Pink Floyd albums?  They are all around the world.

Once, I asked a die hard Pink Floyd fan, “What is so exciting about this band?”  His answer was simply “When you’re angry or nervous, just listen to them.” And when the opportunity was around, so I did.

Wonder of wonders, it worked!  With their music, they will take you to another calmer world.  Their early albums take you to some imaginary world which one cannot describe, full of bright phsycadelic colours, while more recent work takes you through a journey of relaxing good music.

What I really like in Pink Floyd, is their music.  It sounds young, and will always be! I am sure it will also be around for much longer than we can imagine.  Sometimes you listen to some Summer one time hit single, a year after it was released, and you’ll think “hell, that’s old! Time changes and so should music!”  But with Pink Floyd music, there is something different.  Their music fits every decade!

Looking back at the 70′s, compare Pink Floyd to other bands of the same time and you’ll notice that Pink Floyd were light years ahead, in their style, in ther live shows and everything around music. For anyone who thinks that Pink Floyd are the typical loud rock commercial band, I suggest that the next time you’re shopping around for cd’s at Amazon.com, add 2 or 3 Pink Floyd albums to your shopping cart.  You won’t regret it!

I had ever thought this music would be changing my approch to been anger all the time to my relatives and family at home.
I am working overseas in the middle east for a energy company couple month ago on my way to work we had stop at Dubay for just to transfer planes, Then just looking around the at the Duty free musical I found this DVD about Pink Floyd, I would never buy anything at least or without knowing the Musician, But I had took this chance, Well when I reach to middle east, and play it about 10 times it becomes my best music I had ever had in my life, I am stil in the middle and going back to I would defenely get some music from Them.

I think Pink Floyd are brilliant too. Today they have announced a re-issue of 14 of their back catalogue studio albums. There are more details here if you’re interested.

I was first introduced to Pink floyd (their music) in about 1973, The first Album I heard was Darkside, and I have been a fan of theirs ever since. I love a lot of their live work, with extended versions of some of their tracks. While Dark side is by far their best original Album I enjoy listening to all of their work. They were years ahead of their time, far more creative than any other group. If you have never heard them or listened to an album, its your loss. I suggest you rectify that ASAP.
