VIDEO: Stockpiling Poison by The Damn Jammage
The Damn Jammage is a promising new band from London. Their great mix of blues, punk and folkish sounds, accompanied by vocals which sound like God gargling with nails is mesmerizing, electrifying! Formed in 2010 they are almost ready to release their first EP. In the meantime they just released a video for their first EP single “Stockpiling Poison.” The video is also very mind boggling. Just be patient and wait for the end.

It’s an interesting video. Keeps you gripped even though there’s not much going on, which is nice. Not a cliche first video like some bands release. As for the song…it didn’t really meet up to my expectations. It was just a bit too Mumford & Sons for me, and now that they’re around and are instantly recognisable in their style it might bode well for this band to think about changing their direction. The two voices don’t really blend at all and to be honest I was slightly confused when the girl started singing, like maybe my player was a bit broken. It’s not that she couldn’t sing, it was just that with his gruff voice, her singing was pretty much superfluous and just made the sound a bit jarring to listen to.
Overall – video 9/10, song 4/10
