Tearful and unmasked (for the first time) Slipknot members, yesterday held a press conference to pay tribute to Paul Gray, the band’s bassist who was found dead on Monday 24th May 2010. He was found in his hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 38. The whole press conference was an emotional affair, where all the members shared memories about their band mate.

Ronnie James Dio On the morning of May 16, 2010, he died after a six-month battle with stomach cancer. Peter Steele, Type O Negative’s bassist and front man died of a heart failure at the age of 48 years, at 4am, 14th April 2010.  Band mate Kenney Hickey confirmed the rumors of his passing away, despite a similar rumor in 2005.  Though this time the rumors seem to be true.  Pete’s work with Type O Negative was always groundbreaking and it was also of a huge influence on other genres of doom metal.
