See Green – Violet EP review

The more you listen to music, the more different genres you start looking into, the more you want to discover. At least this is what happened to me and my musical tastes. My “don’t just listen to what is played on the radio” era started in my very early teens, when I just listened to heavy metal, which didn’t take me long to grow out of it. There is nothing wrong in listening with heavy metal, and I still listen to it today, but I also listen to a king size XXL type of number of different music genres. It is also very difficult to stick to the same genre, you’ll easily get bored, or in case you stick to the Cure only, you’ll soon end up crazy! I mean, let’s face it. Would you listen to Joy Division while on a road trip with friends or at the beach hunting down chicks?

The same applies for See Green, a seven piece band lead by Courtenay Green. You wouldn’t listen to them when you are sitting in a car with your going to be ex-girlfriend crying, and your brain is busy trying hard to find a million and one excuses to dumb her? Why? Because their music is happy, vibrant and propagates positive energetic vibes. As a matter of fact, the first four songs in Violet, See Green’s latest EP, are ideal to sing along with, loud and naked under the shower before you go out for a good night out with some of your best mates.

What’s also impressive is Courtenay uses her skills as a drummer, guitarist, pianist and writes/arranges nearly every part of every song and co-produces all of her recordings. So, we couldn’t not give her music a try, and a shout on our blog, couldn’t we? After all, she is really sexy, and most probably smells good as well!

So prepare yourself to listen to some modern and vibrant alternative pop! See Green’s music is a trifle of simple and patterned drums, unique keyboard sound effects that blend into their music like Bacardi blends with cola, catchy guitar riffs blended together with Courtenay’s catchy and solid vocals. Give them a shot and listen to their freely available track, Think Twice and wait for more positive energy to come your way from See Green!

I’ve worked with Courtenay musically before and have always been impressed by her work and her ability to do what she does.

    Frankly I’m jealous.

Just heard their track online and must say that although such music is not my style, I still like it. It is very easy listening.

@Michael – I am as well impressed with Courtenay’s abilities. Let’s face it, how many people can play drums, guitar, piano, and writes and co produces music?

Keep up the good work :)
