During September  this year, I got to know about a London based band called New Manhattan.  Leon Guthrie, a Muzikablog.com reviewer said “They managed to create small and personal snapshots in every track. With three tracks only lasting seven minutes, the songs are lean and chiselled, but perfect for smashing around in your room. The Damn Jammage is a promising new band from London. Their great mix of blues, punk and folkish sounds, accompanied by vocals which sound like God gargling with nails is mesmerizing, electrifying! Formed in 2010 they are almost ready to release their first EP. In the meantime they just released a video for their first EP single “Stockpiling Poison.” The video is also very mind boggling. Just be patient and wait for the end.

The Border Surrender just released a music video for the track If You Pass Me By, from their EP Lean Season, which was reviewed on our blog earlier on this year.  Like their EP, the video is very glorious.  From the video, which is quite realistic, you can also realise how many things can happen at the same time in the same area.  Well up to you to decide what the exact meaning of the video is…

The more I listen to the West Pole, the more I realise that The Gathering did an awesome job.  After Anneke’s leaving, I think most of the people thought it is over for The Gathering.  Let’s face it, after all her voice was their signiture.  But the Rutten brothers, founders of the band, being the good musicians that they are, did a good job in recreating the new Gathering, while sticking to their roots, writing vital, atmospheric and extravert rock music.
